Why Am I So Lucky!!!

So we haven't had lights or water to shower for 3 days, ha-ha, the water came back on yesterday, and also the lights, but the lights went out again this morning. But, it has been such a fun experience because it legitly feels like we are camping out.

We heated up these rocks with our fire, and then cooked eggs in a pan, and roasted bacon on the rocks. Scout Camps have turned out to useful in Mision Quetzaltenango.

This is the house of one of our investigators. His name is Byron, and he is 12 years old, we have done so much service with them, and this time, I really saw that he really appreciated our work. This is someone’s house we are building, someone´s home. It feels good to make someone like Byron happy. He doesn’t have a dad, but he works hard for his family, and does his best to be the happy young kid he is.

This is Byron and his Mom, Hermana Rosa, who is an inactive, and doesn´t really want anything, but we´ll hope and pray for the best.

I honestly have been changed by being in the two areas that are deemed somewhat difficult. But I think they have helped me grow soooo much as a missionary and a person. God lets us face hard challenges, because he loves us, and he knows we will grow from them. Whatever it is you are going through, wherever you are in the world- you experience challenges because you are a child of God, and you are strong, and if you put your trust in him, you can accomplish anything- Absolutely Anything!

We spread the mud through the bricks, like the cement of real bricks, we finished this side of wall.

But, it has been such a fun experience because it legitly feels like we are camping out. Cooking our food out on the campfire that we build from wood we found in the forest, washing our clothes, and bathing in the river, this is a once in a life time experience that will never happen again, Why Am I So Lucky!!
We have been doing so much service this week, building houses, hauling wood, and we never had any water to shower or wash our clothes! So, as we returned one day from helping finish build an adobe house, I called the ZL and asked if we could have permission to go wash our clothes in the river, and wash off there, and guess what, We Got Permission!
I don´t know how long I’m going to be here, but whatever happens, Im so happy to have come. In one of our district meetings the other day, our zone leader, Elder Mariott, said something like, "In these areas here, the mission can be and is really hard, and maybe as you look at other missionaries who are baptizing a bunch, you might think, wow they are having so much more success than me. But, just know that I know, that God is so happy with the work you are doing, and you are changing lives..... if anything, you are changing your own. We have the best missionaries in our zone, and if you haven´t been changed in some way by being in this zone, you may need to rethink your actions as a missionary, because if anything, in this zone- you will change your own life, and grow, and strengthen to be stronger than ever before".

What a great blessing it has been to be a part of Zone Sanfrancisco, and a missionary in Area Choqui- I feel so blessed, and truly humbled, truly I have experienced a change of heart.

I be takin Utah State all over the world!!

Washing the clothes on river rocks!!!

This river lines the bottom of the Canyon between Pueblo Viejo y Choqui, its a bout an hour walk to get there, and then another hour back, Lejos, but it had to be done.

When am I ever going to get to do something like this again!?..... Nunca, entonces hay que aprovecharlo!

I am going to have the biggest missionary tan line when I come home. First thing I’m gonna do, is hit the lake and fix that up, ha-ha

¡Bañando en el rio!

hope I dont get some weird uncurable parasitic disease from this... haha, that would be just my luck, ha-ha

These rock formations will probably last here for a really long time, cause hardly anyone walks through here.

This is a giant poinsette tree, they grow all over Choqui, and remind me of Christmas time, which is a long time away, ha-ha.

Cute Chucho- but Charlie is cuter.
- In my Calendar that you guys made me, is the big picture of Charlie, that says be the person your dog thinks you are. That´s some real good advice, that I´m always going to try to live by, ha-ha. Having a dog, is like meeting someone for the first time and knowing you´re going to be great friends. And then the time comes when they gotta leave, and we are a little sad at first, but then we realize how many good times we had with them, and everything we learned from them, and shared with them, and we are happy again.
Don´t be sad, be thankful it’s happened.

Candle light dinner, without luz in Choqui!!!!
