Another Baptism!

This is me, Jessica, who we baptized last week, and Telma who was baptized Friday. I feel so happy that we have started bringing the whole family together.

My new comp. Elder Garcia, with Telma, Mama Lencha, and Hermano Verjilio. These two Abuelos are next... hopefully.

Familia!

Primera, guess what!? Another Baptism! We baptised Hermana Telma, the mom of Jessica last Friday. Wow, what a great blessing and surprise for me and my new comp. I can just say that it is so important to have the spirit as a guide while you are teaching lessons. No matter how good are at Spanish, no matter how much you know, the still small voice of the spirit is what converts people. There are so many amazing things I want to say right now, but to put them all into a small sentence- God knows us. He knows what we need, and where we a going. We are his children and he is our father and he wants us more than anything to return to him someday.

So after a zone meeting on Thursday, me and my new companion, Elder Garcia, were returning to Quilinco. We got to our house and seeing as we only had an hour till the sun went down we would go visit Hermana Telma. We also decided that we would follow the example of two hermana missionaries in our zone. They had a baptism the last month and set the Fecha the night before and said, listen, you are ready and can be baptized in any moment any day, if you wanted to be baptized at 3 in the morning this very night, you could be. There were very direct and sincere. Their investigdor called at 6 in the morning and said he wanted to be baptized that day. So, we decided to follow the example of Hermana Mcgill and her companion. We climbed the small mountain to reach her house said a pray before entering, and started to give a lesson. Immediately the Spirit was present, and felt by every member in the room. And as we talked about scripture stories and baptism we set a date for the 19th of October. Then we continued talking, and the spirit grew. We moved the date to the 12th of October. As we continued we told her. Hermana Telma you are ready; you are prepared; in qual quier momemto you can be baptized, and if you have your answer now will you be baptized tomorrow. At first she was hesitant, and as we continued to teacha and talk. We invited her to say a pray, and during her pray she must have felt something. It was 9:00 at night but she felt for some reason that tomorrow was the day for her to be baptized. What the Shrek!!!! Telma..... Telma.... The Telma who has known the missionaries for over a year and a half- Eternagador number 2! Yup, you heard right, Facunda Telma Garcia, was baptized the next day at 7:30 en la noche. Ya, it was a little to pin the baptism that fast, but it turned out wonderful, and was a beautiful miracle that I, my companion, and Telma will never forget. I have zero, absolutely zero doubts that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, La Iglesia De JesuCristo De Los Santos De Los Ultimos Dias, is the true and only true church of God. Que bendicion es para mi a vivir a un misionero y ayudar otros averiguar la verdad. Wow.... miracles are real.

So my new comp is from Honduras. His name is Elder Garcia, he is exactly opposite of Caquiamarca. He is great, and I can see and feel a great difference in our lessons. He actually doesnt talk that much so I do a lot of talking in the lessons.... so my spanish is going to just continue to improve.

After Telma´s baptism, I was just really inspired to be a little more bold, and really let the people in Quilinco know why we are here. I know that there are great things to come in the future of Quilinco, and am so excited that I have the opportunity to be a part of its growth and development.

Watching Conference was such an uplifting blessing. And guess what!? We watched every session except for sacerdocio in English. There are so many things I love from conference, but I just want to share a few. From Elder Edward Dube, "it is not what we have done, where we have been, but where we are willing to go to that is important in the sight of the Lord." If it’s not word for word, it’s pretty close, but I was trying to write fast. But really, where are we willing to go, and what are we actually willing to do for the Lord? Something to think about...
Anyways, got to peace out so, I will see ya guys later!! Love you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Adios.

Hey, remember this guy! It's Elder Halling from the airport, from Layton.  He is in the zone next to us, so I will get to see him every once in a while.
For all my fellow missionaries and friends, my favorite quote from this octubre conferencia. In a talk from Dieter F. Uchtdorf... He said, "If you´re tempted to give up, stay a little longer, there is room for you here." There is place for everyone of you in this world, whether it be in the mission or at home. God knows you and knows where you need to be. Heaven forbid if you ever start to doubt if you can finish, always know "there is room for you here", a special spot where you can be guided to help a child of God enter into his Kingdom. Never give up, "stay a little longer," I love you all and Heavenly Father loves you too.

Luv Elder Dalton
