So, this week, I had the chance to go on divisions with E. Lozano in Kolotenango. While we were there that night, I had a dream that night that one of our investigators was dressed in white being baptized, that´s all I could remember when I woke up. We had a cita with her planned for that very day. So when I got back to the house, me and E. Baads sat down and started to plan out the lesson we wanted to share with the hermana. Her name is H. Maria Jose. So we sat down and prayed and planned, because from all my experiences in the mission, the best lessons are when we sit down and plan, because preparation, worthiness, and faith bring the Spirit in to a lesson, and the Spirit brings true conversion.
We planned our lesson, we went to her house, we made rice crispy treats and then sat down, had a powerful clear lesson, and challenged H. M.J. to baptism, and she accepted. She had been to the Temple 2 months earlier and in the Temple, one of the workers had challenged her to baptism as well, and told her when she was ready to be baptized that he would come down to Hue Hue and baptize her. So that very Thursday, we called the temple worker, and we started planning the baptism, it wasnt going to be until the next week, but the Temple worker mentioned that he was going to be coming down to Hue Hue that very Sunday, so we planned the baptism for that very Saturday and everything went well, we rushed to make invitations and handed them out to the entire ward and Maria Jose was Baptized this past Saturday!!
At the baptism, a few thoughts came to mind as I listened to the Temple Worker, Hermano Dias give a short message.
We all play a part of the instrument in God´s hands- Just like while playing a guitar, if we use all the strings together we can make beautiful music, and if we all play our part: the missionaries, the members, the investigators- together if we are all willing to do his will, we can make beautiful miracles.
So that this comes to pass, we all need to be in tune with the Spirit, and as we listen to His whisperings we will all play the role that he needs us to play. Maria Jose was invited to go visit the Temple 2 months ago by a less active member... if this member never had been impressed by the spirit to invite her nonmember friend, would all of this have happened? Hermana M.J. was impressed by the Spirit to accept the invitation, and she took the step of faith, and went to the Temple, If she had never acted with Faith, where would she be now?? In the Temple, the Temple Worker, hermano Dias, was impressed by the Spirit to give the Maria Jose a blessing and teach her about the gospel, without this would she have ever made it to the waters of baptism?? And if us, the missionaries had never listened to the promptings of the Spirit telling us to go to the house of an old investigator who wasn’t progressing and plan a lesson to invite her to baptism, If we had never done any of this She would not have been baptized this past weekend.... We all played our part, and thanks to God, and the Holy Spirit, we were able to be guided, to do and to say what we needed to. I testify that its so important that we make sure that we maintain pure and worthy of the presence of the Spirit, and that we listen and act of His impressions, because just as the strings of a guitar make a beautiful song, the servants of the lord who follow the spirit make beautiful miracles.
Alma, 26:12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
Also this week, we had a huge miracle, right after going with Maria jose on Thursday we got a call from one of our good friends H. Brisna, who told us that her daughter had turned 9, and that she couldn´t wait any longer, she had to baptize her daughter Brisnita. And guess what?! I got to baptize her!!!! We definitely had a week full of miracles.
