I hit a year in the mission!!!

I hit a year in the mission!!! The time is never felt walking in the shoes of a missionary. We ordered a pizza, and celebrated my accomplishment, ha-ha, honestly this next one is going to go so fast it isn’t even funny.

Hermana Judith, preparando para la boda!

I have sooooo much to say, and little time to write it all!

Hey, Guys,

Congrats on successfully finishing another year of school, and moving on to do bigger and better things, you guys are awesome. Right now, I’m freezing because we are soaking wet, cause we just got back from playing paintball in the rain! It’s been raining for more than 24 hours straight! And it doesn´t look like its stopping. It was way fun, but my hands are numb from being in the cold soooo long.

Anyways, I had an amazing week this week, I’m just soooo busy all the time, it’s like nonstop, keep movin, there is something important to do every single hour of the day, and I love it! Feeling rushed all the time can be a little stressful, but it also gives you a huge adrenaline boost that makes you feel ready to take on whatever gets thrown at ya.

This week I had the special privilege to participate in the baptism of Hermano Anibal. He is one of the investigators of the Hermanas who is a really awesome guy. Him and his wife Judith were listening to the lessons from the Hermanas and attending church every week. I always sat next to Hermano Anibal during church in priesthood session.

Initially Herrmano. Anibal didn´t want to be baptized, and every time he came to church, he always stated clearly that he was Just Visiting. But one night after the hermanas had taught Anibal again about the prayer and how important it is in gaining a testimony of the truthfulness of the church. For the first time in Hermano Anibals life he kneeled down and sincerely and specifically asked if the church is true. And that night hermano Anibal had a very special experience. He had a dream. In his dream Hermano was standing in a large field. Out in the distance he saw a tree and a missionary standing by the tree, In his own words he said, (I saw one of the Gringo (White) missionaries standing by the tree.) He said that the missionary was picking the fruit from the tree, and the fruit that was being picked was very large fruit, giant and bright. He then looked to another direction and saw his mother (who belongs to a different church denomination) and she was also picking fruit from a tree, but the fruits she was gathering were very small, and not the same as the fruit the American Missionary was gathering. He then told me that in his dream, The missionary called out to him (the gringo missionary) and offered him to come take part of the fruit that the missionary continued to gather, but as the missionary called out to him in the dream he said he rejected the offer, and the was the end of the dream.

Hermano Anibal told this experience first to the hermana missionaries, and they invited us to take part in the lesson that night. The Hermanas told us about the dream and mentioned to us the the gringo missionary in the dream was one of us, but Anibal didn´t remember our names at this time, so he didn’t know which one of us it was. Like described in the dream, we came to the lesson planning to offer Hermano Anibal the biggest, brightest, most delicious fruit he could ever receive-the invitation to be baptized. We had a short lesson, and when the moment was right, I felt the need to invite him to be baptized, and he accepted! So did his wife Judith! In the baptismal interview which I performed, He re told me the dream he had, and mentioned that I had offered him the fruit in the dream, but he didn´t accept it, and he felt bad after, so when I had invited him to be baptized he immediately accepted, and was excited about his decision.

So this past saturday, the 31st of may, hermano Anibal and Judith, were married and then baptized, I sang at their wedding/baptism (dressed in white in my baptismal clothes, ha-ha), and I was privileged to baptize Hermano Anibal! When he came out of the water he could not stop smiling. His joyful expression was absolutely pure happiness. I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to help someone like Hermano Anibal, And I know there are so many more people like him: prepared, special, wonderful people, that are just waiting unknowingly for the gospel to arrive on their doorstep.

Gettin Legally married! One day they´ll go to the Temple ;)

Just Married!

Here´s a pic of Me, my comp, Hermana Aguirre (La Mexicana), Hermana Woods (from Idaho), and Anibal, Judith, and their two kids Abi, and David.

Their wedding cake was pretty awesome!

Have you ever seen a happier Guatemalan face?! Hermano Anibal is a really great guy, and feel so blessed to have had the chance to guide him and his family to the straight and narrow path he now journeys upon.
