So... I had an awesome week!!

Hey I didn´t get a chance last week to send all the pictures from the Laguna because of the lightning storm so I’m going to send them now! ;)

All these pics that I’ve been sending are from the Laguna Chikabal. These sites with the crosses, our sacred ritual places for the Mayan people today. They come here and make sacrifices to ask for rain, and a good harvest.

So... I had an awesome week!!                                                                     May 19,2014
 We found a family!

Hermana Deborah, and her 4 kids, Ivón, Valerie, Angy, and Edward all came to church this Sunday. They are the new family that we found. They are so funny, and happy, and so perfectly prepared to accept this gospel, what a blessing it is that we found them.

The other day, Elder Maldonado randomly asked a young member in the ward if he and any references for us, and he said, well ya, I heard there was a some lady who was interested in the church, I go with you to visit her this next week. So we went to visit this Sister, we didn´t even know her name at the time, and when we got of the house she answered the door, and said she was a too busy at the moment but we could come back Friday, so we were like, sounds great, we´ll come back Friday.

So we ended up going back Friday, and she happily invited us in her house to meet her family. As we entered the house the three little girls, and the 3 year old son all ran up to us and gave us big hugs yelling, Elders!!! It turns out, that Hemana Deborah and her family had been visited by elders in Hue Hue tenango, years ago. they almost were baptized, but Deborah wasn´t married and her husband lived in the states at that time. Two years ago, her mom was baptized, so she has always been reminded by her mother the importance of the church. And some time ago, her husband came back to Guatemala just to be married with her, and then flew back to work in the states.
So as she started telling us about her life, she explained how many blessings she had received from knowing the elders, and how the elders had even given a blessing to her son one time when he was really sick, and he was healed. She told us, how she was almost baptized, but could not be, because she was unmarried. But now that she is married, she has nothing stopping her from being baptized, and her 8 year old daughter Ivon can be baptized as well.
Their entire family came to the talent night this Saturday in the ward... which I performed in, ha-ha, ya, the secret is out in Barrio Garibaldi that Elder Dalton can sing, so my comps, and the members are always signing me up to sing at activities. Her whole family also came to church this Sunday. Her kids were so excited to go to primary, because they hadn´t been for so longs, really they had an amazing experience in church and I am so happy for all of them.
During the sacrament meeting, the 8 year old daughter asked if she could draw in my notebook, I said for sure! and she started to draw. She drew a picture of the Xela temple, of 3 angels, and a picture of me baptizing her, ha-ha. She is only eight years old, and knows more about the gospel principles than many adults. Ha-ha, the picture made me laugh, and she is always asking us when she can be baptized. I am so happy for their family, and feel so blessed for having the chance to share the restored gospel with each one of them. To think, that helping this small family, could save, and help generations of children of God. What a blessing we have received.
I also got some good news the other day. That a family in another area in the zone, that I contacted is progressing rapidly toward being baptized as well.

One night I went on divisions with Elder Golledge , and we had been contacting for hours, prayerfully searching for a family that would be willing to receive our message. And after having a little bit of success, and feeling very tired. I felt the need to sit down on a curb in front of a door. We sat ourselves down and started talking, debating about wait we should do next, if their was any members we could visit, or less actives. And then came upon me, this very warm happy feeling, just a huge warm wrapped around me like a blanket. I knew in my heart in that moment, that the door in which we had sat in front of, we needed to knock. As we talked about how the day had been going, Elder Golledge mentioned to me. Even though we haven´t had much success today, I feel really good. In that moment I felt the same way. It was the best way to describe it. I felt really really good. Finally E. Golledge thought of a member we could go visit. And we got up to leave, and as we started to walk away, in about 5 steps. I paused, and told E. Golledge, lets knock on one last door. I turned around quickly and stepped up towards the house we were sitting in front of and knocked. As we waited patiently we heard someone approaching the door. It was opened, and a small young lady looked up to us smiling, buenas noches. I started to talk, and shared with her that we were here sharing messages that bring the family closer together and unite the family. We talked a little bit, and then asked her if we could share a message with her. She thought a moment then looked up to us, and said sure why not, I don´t have time right now, but come back Monday when my husband is here, and we can talk. We happily said sounds great! And we said goodbye and started to walk away. She had almost closed the door fully, when suddenly it flew back open, and she yelled out to us, actually why dont you pass by tomorrow morning, my husband will be home then, and we would love to talk with you. We were so happy when we heard this, and told her that would be great!

The elders the next morning went back to contact her and her family, and ever since then they have been teaching them, and they are progressing. We have been told by Elder Farley and Elder golledge that they will be baptized sometime in June. And all of this just because of one knock on the door.

1.     I know if I had not been listening to the Spirit, or if I had not been searching humbly and prayerfully for someone to teach, we would have not found Hermana Rosa and her family; We would have missed the opportunity to share this most important message with them, that will change their lives forever. I have a testimony that Heavenly Father will guided us to these prepared persons who need to receive the Gospel, and we will find them if we are living worthily to hear and understand the promptings of the spirit. These people surround us every day, and all we have to do to find them, is ask, and we will receive.
And because of all of this, it was an amazing week ;)
