I’m Habituated!

Things are going great here in Guatemala.

These are water pipes, but the people in Quilinco use them as a bridge.

I only like the puppies in Quilinco- the other dogs aren't dogs, I'd call them hyena rats, kinda like those animals on the Princess Bride... ROUS's. This puppy is named Escorpian and he is the only nice dog in Quilinco... I miss Charlie.

Hey  Family,                                                                                               August 19, 2013

Things are going great here in Guatemala. The weeks just keep flying on by before you know it there is another Pday. Today we didn’t do much. Its cambios so some of the elders are leaving our zone, but we will be also getting another Gringo in our group, (Gringo is significant... white person) So I’m stoked for that we will have 3 gringos in our district, and one more in our zone, so sick tight! Les Goooooooooo!
I feel better and better about my Spanish every week, and I am super comfortable waking up to a random person and talking to them. So, I’m super happy for that. I can’t wait till in like 6 months I will be super comfortable with my Spanish. I go to Xela next week for the trainer meeting, and I’ll get to see all the kids from my district, I can’t wait, super stoked!
I am just going to try to keep living it up in Guatemala, I keep focusing on how blessed I am and how much good I can actually do in Guatemala. Every time I meet a new kid or a new family I get excited because it’s just another person that I might be able to share the gospel with. The mission is freakin hard no doubt but worth every second in your life. I live in Quilinco! Its legitly like a place out of the Lord of the Rings. I’m habituated (that’s a big word huh, haha Aaron should
know it from Gurneys class) to how beautiful this place is. I live basically in the shire! These paths are so cool. I never want to leave Quilinco, and I want to help these people my whole mission.
I got the ties today, and I can’t wait to send them to you, also I got another bracelet, and some other stuff, but I want to send you the ties for sure!
Arnolodo still hasn’t been baptized but he is so ready! I know he knows that this church is true and he loves coming to church and hanging out with the members and the missionaries, Our next lesson with him we have to turn his meta for the 31st of Augusto into a fecha!  I know he can be baptized. I was going to sing at a baptism in Chiantla today, but the baptism fell through, pero tal vez en la futuro yo puedo cantar a un baptismal.
Im so excited about me and Becca’s music and so glad that I’m getting a copy, I can’t wait to show it somehow to the members in Quilinco. I know they would really like it a lot.
Thanks for all your prayers! gotta go!! Love ya allllll!
P.S. I really love the picture of Grandma and Aaron with the potato gun! Hahaha it’s super funny!

I learned from a member in Chiantla that I live in the tallest mountians in Central America. I think she might be right, because they just keep going up, up, up, up, into the clouds, and up some more. Crazyish right?

P Day in Guatemala!

We went to this sick laguna, called Laguna Magdalena. Look it up on google earth, I have never been to a place as beautiful as this Laguna. It was like something off of an episode of Planet Earth, soooooo beautiful!

When you see this type of beauty on the earth, It’s just another sign that we have a God. Pictures are not going to do it justice. I have never seen something more beautiful with my own eyes.

Sweet!

This waterfall behind Laguna Magdalena has got to be at least 200 feet high, and you cant see the real deal, but Im standing out on a branch slash log that is like six feet away from the cliff, and its super tight!!

Who gets to stand on top of a 200 foot waterfall?
