Choices Change Lives!

This is me ridin' on the back of a flyin' Micro Bus in the mountains of GUAT...
once in a life time!
(I'ma be careful while im out here.)

6:30 am in Quilinco.
Hey, did you here about the earthqualke we had. I was walking and didn't feel anything, but I guess a lot of people actually felt it really strong. So I can finally say we have had our first earthquake!
(It was a 5.4 on September 7)

This is me and the Misión President Bautista, and his wife, Hermana Bautista. They're the best misión presidents any one could hope for! They came up to Quilinco to give us a bookshelf, a table and some dishes, also they brought one of my packages! Which had my music in it with Beccas CD. I was super excited, and my comp is still shocked that I actually have a CD.

We went paintballing for Pday! Super fun!

It was fun to take out some of my frustration on the other elders in a Little paintball. Haha!

Hey everybody!

First, Tannnnnn Man, it’s dangerous to walk in Hue Hue at night cause people are probs going to rob ya, ha-ha, and ya, cause it’s not anything like Utah. How blessed we are to live in a place like Utah where usually your biggest worries are the away football games in Kearns and Granger, haha. Also tell Tanner I’m super jealous that he is going to see all these cool movies, he will just have to promise me that we will watch all of them over again together. I got alllllll the packages, and the music!!! Thank you family! and thank you Grandma and Cherie! Muy Amable! Aaron looks huge in every picture, and so does Tanner, the pics really made my day. And I actually do get letters from other people. I think I just never got your first ones and I don’t know why.... but it’s all good so I am getting letters, so tell people to keep sending! Also please tell sister Gordan that I am very thankful for all her letters and all her support! This week went by fairly fast, I’ve had faster, it was super rainy this week. I bought a new backpack, my other is destroyed, and also bought some more corte for some new ties. My music is really gonna be on Itunes! What! Does it cost a lot of money, will they always be up there, how can you let people know where to get my music!! Thanks for that, that is really exciting. Ok..............................

Horita, I would like to write a little something for everybody out there, not just the fam, or the friends, this letter is specifically for EVERYONE. Diga al mundo que yo tengo un gran mensaje, algo que puede cambiar su vida para siempre. Today I am going to talk about descisions. Let’s get (deep) for a second here. WE make decisions every day. We choose to wake up, we choose to get dressed, choose to eat, play, work, laugh, cry, return home and hop into bed. When we make a decision sometimes we take a while to think it over, lay out the pros and cons, and then sometimes we are like YOLO, and just go for it.

But, what i really want to say is, when we make decisions, we can completely altar our lives.I was talking to a member in Quilinco the other day, he’s like 20 somethin years old and was ready to prepare to head out on a misión. Listo a conocer un nuevo lugar, y listo a ser un misionario. But just like that (SNAP) he changed his mind.... So I was talking to him, shared a scripture with him, and he was like, ya Calidad, whatevs. I felt prompted to tell him this.

I said, Primo, ya know I have hardly 3 months in my misión, and I have seen and recognized more blessings in my life than I have ever seen before. Ya, straight up, the misión, it’s hard.

1. You leave your home, your family, your friends, opportunities, and everything else you know.

2. Spanish aint easy, haha, and you aren’t accustomed to a different culture.

3. I have felt things that before I have never felt this much. I’ve been afraid, I’ve been lonely, I’ve been tired, exhausted, homesick, frustrated, sad, and worried.

But............. Besides the difficulties that are in the misión, I have seen and felt more blessings in my life in these short 3 months that I have ever seen or felt before.

Choices Change Lives, Elecciones Cambian Vidas

I told this miembro. Listen, we are blessed, we have families, we have friends, food, a bed, a roof over our heads, work, and we might not have everything, but we have opportunities, WE have the grand opportunity to have the Gospel of Jesús Christ in our lives right now, in this momento. And in this very momento we have the opportunity to share it.

For anyone in the entire world who has ever, ever had a desire to serve a misión, to serve Christ, to help someone, to change a life, Get yourself out on a misión. I promise you right now that someone in the world in this very momento is waiting, and being prepared to listen to the Gospel of Christ, and who can this person hear the Gospel from ............. YOU, You are the only person who will be able to say exactly what this person needs to hear, they will only fully respond to you, and for some reason they will have a connection with you and be able to accept the Gospel, only through you!

So mayber you are thinkin right now, Im no good at talking, How can I possibly help somebody, how can I possibly say something that could change this person’s life, I dont have the words, the composure, the eloquence, or talent. Right now, get rid of all those doubts. No one is perfect, we all struggle, and we all have weaknesses, but I can testify with all my heart that I know there is someone ready and waiting, someone out there who is being prepared to listen and accept the restored gospel through your presence and your words. In the misión, you are in God’s hands, you’re an instrument, a messenger, an angel.

Ya, the missino is hard, and you might have other opportunities that seem to be bursting open in other places, but like it says in the scripture, 2 Timonthy 2:10, "I endure all things for the elects sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory". We endure the hard things in this world to give opportunities to "the elect of God" Those chosen prepared souls who are ready to be introduced to the Restored Gospel by YOU.

How can you know if this is true? How can you know if someone is actually waiting for you out in the world, in this very moment? How will you know what is going to happen with these people? You will never know, unless you look. But if you do go looking, if you do embark on your misión to serve the Lord, I testify that you will find these elect people. Our choices, our descions, they CHANGE LIVES. The lives of ourselves and the lives of others.

..........Think about that for a Little bit, now make a decision.

I have felt things that before I have never felt this much. I've been afraid, I've been lonely, I've been tired, exhausted, homesick, frustrated, sad, and worried. But............. Besides the difficulties that are in the misión, I have seen and felt more blessings in my life in these short 3 months that I have ever seen or felt before.
